Musician Jetu Appointed Crime Ambassador At Limbe Police Station
Limbe, Malawi Limbe Police Station has appointed popular musician Jetu, whose real name is Christina Kholiyo, as its new crime prevention ambassador. The announcement was made during an award ceremony recognizing outstanding officers for the final quarter of 2024.
During the event, guest speaker Yunus Ismail Lambat urged officers to remain committed to their duties and uphold professionalism. Station manager Endwin Khambo stated that Jetu’s appointment is aimed at addressing societal misconceptions, particularly the stereotype that older individuals are linked to witchcraft.
Limbe Police Station has been at the forefront of law enforcement innovation, being the first in the country to introduce CCTV surveillance in public areas. With Jetu’s involvement, authorities hope to strengthen community engagement and promote crime awareness.
As part of the ceremony, all officers under Limbe Police Station received awards in recognition of their dedication and service.
