The announcement was made during an award ceremony recognizing outstanding officers for the final quarter of 2024. During the event, guest speaker Yunus Ismail Lambat urged officers to remain committed to their duties and uphold professionalism. Station manager Endwin Khambo stated that Jetu’s appointment is aimed at addressing societal misconceptions, particularly the stereotype that older individuals are linked to witchcraft. Limbe Police Station has been at the forefront of law enforcement innovation, being the first in the country to introduce CCTV surveillance in public areas. The issue stems from an incident last year when Tamia Ja was arrested over theft allegations. A businessperson had mistakenly transferred K8 million to her account but later accused her of refusing to return the funds. During the investigation, police conducted a search at her residence, seizing her passport and money. While her passport was eventually returned, the K1.2 million remains in police custody.
