Onesimus ushers in 2025 with new hit single "tabwera"



Malawian music star Onesimus has kicked off the new year in style, unveiling his latest single, “Tabwera.”

The soulful love ballad narrates the story of a heartbroken individual longing for companionship, with Onesimus’s emotional delivery set to captivate fans.

Speaking in a recent interview, the artist teased an exciting year ahead, confirming plans for a major album release.

“I have got an album to drop, and I’m expecting a lot of things. I also want to thank my fellow Malawians for their unwavering support,” he said.

Onesimus had a remarkable 2024, bagging several prestigious awards, including Best Male Artist at both the Shining Star Africa Awards and HAPA Awards, as well as Song of the Year for “Controller” at the Music Video Africa Awards (MVAA).

The momentum continues in 2025, with the artist securing two nominations at an upcoming awards ceremony in Kigali, Rwanda, this April. He is in the running for Best Young Achiever Music Video of the Year (“Controller”) and Best Young Achiever Artist of the Year.

Meanwhile, “Tabwera” is already making waves, amassing 5,000 YouTube views within just an hour of its release. Fans can expect another thrilling year as Onesimus cements his place as one of Africa’s leading musical talents.

 Malceba Renowned hip-hop artist Mazaka Smart Banda, popularly known as Macelba, has unveiled the much anticipated music video for his song Chosadziwa Part 2. The track features singer Leslie and is part of his latest project. The video, released on Friday morning, was produced by Hendrix Kanchowa of Kanchowa Studios.
