JB's fundraising efforts began with a casual remark on February 25, 2025, encouraging his friends in the US to contribute to the cause. Despite initial skepticism, JB's determination and transparency eventually won over doubters.
During a recent live session on his Facebook page, JB announced the impressive fundraising milestone, garnering praise from fellow artists and supporters.
Nepman, the artist behind the hit 'N'gona za m'mabango', currently in America, commended JB's initiative, stating, "JB has opened the eyes of many Malawians with his live Facebook sessions. He is a true patriot and dedicated citizen of Malawi."
Ril B, the artist behind 'Mwini Zinthu', also expressed gratitude, praising JB's move as "remarkable" and promising to contribute to the cause soon.
Phill Mwanza, manager of Ticheze Media, which hosts Malawian artists in the US, also supported JB's initiative, describing it as a unique endeavor that aligns with their mission.
Ticheze Media plans to host shows on July 6th, with all funds raised going towards supporting Malawians facing urgent challenges.
