Stitch Fray Moves Studio To Lilongwe Embrace New Opportunities
Renowned Malawian music producer Stich Fray has relocated his studio from Blantyre to Lilongwe in a strategic move to engage with the capital city’s thriving creative scene. The transition marks a new chapter for the artist, whose studio is already drawing fresh talent from across the country.
Fray, also a celebrated recording and performing artist known for his hit song Zoti Ndimakukonda, emphasized the importance of adaptability in the dynamic music industry. “A rolling stone gathers no moss,” he said, highlighting his belief that continuous movement prevents stagnation.
Speaking to Malawi24, Fray revealed that repeated requests from artists in the central region influenced his decision. “Many people from Lilongwe have approached me over the years, and I felt it was the right time to consider them while also expanding my production expertise,” he explained.
With over a decade of experience in Blantyre, Fray is optimistic about the opportunities Lilongwe presents. He has an impressive track record, having produced hit songs such as Tuno and Follow by Phyzix (featuring Eli Njuchi), Nkhamba Kamwa by Nepman, and Kalilombe by Barry One and Piksy.
His relocation signals a new era for both his career and the Malawian music industry, as he looks forward to collaborating with emerging and established artists in the capital.
